Mass musician Fakir Alamgir is no more. He died of corona (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun). The news of his death has been confirmed by his son Mashuk Alamgir Rajib. Fakir Alamgir was 61 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and three sons.

Fakir Alamgir’s son Mashuk Alamgir Rajib told Prothom Alo that Fakir Alamgir had a heart attack while he was on ventilation in the Covid unit around 10pm on Friday. At 10:57 pm, Dr. Amina Sultana, in-charge of the Covid ICU unit of United Hospital, announced the death of artist Fakir Alamgir.
Fakir Alamgir had been suffering from fever and whooping cough for several days. He later sought medical attention. You can test Covid-19 as per the doctor’s advice and find out that he is Corona positive. That day his breathing started. He was then taken to a hospital on Green Road. At that time he was admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) in Gulshan. He had problems with diabetes and high blood pressure. That is why the complications keep increasing. But his son, Mashuk Alamgir, told Prothom Alo that his father’s oxygen saturation dropped to 45 at around 10:30 pm on Sunday, prompting doctors to recommend ventilation.
Fakir Alamgir’s oxygen saturation has risen to 90 since he was taken on ventilation. However, the last was not saved. At one time infections were found in the blood and lungs. Blood pressure goes down a lot. Fever is coming up almost every morning due to infection in the blood. New antibiotics were given on Friday. At one point the situation deteriorated again at night, eventually losing to Corona, this legendary folk music artist.
